While trees and shrubs establish form in a landscape, perennials and annuals give a landscape that little bit of pizzazz. Perennials and annuals in today's landscape offer an array of colors, textures, shapes and size.
Perennials are a pleasing element to a landscape because they come back after winter dormancy to bloom year after year.
Annuals however do complete their life cycle from seed germination to flowering and death in less than a year and require replanting the following year.
Together, perennials and annuals can be used to fill in gaps in the landscape between shrubs, under trees, in pots, under windows, on patios or near entries.
For waves of color throughout the growing season, don't forget your perennials and annuals.
